The grand opening of the esteemed 17th National Academic Conference on Early Gastrointestinal Cancer was presided over by Professor He Song, Chairman of the Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Branch of the Chongqing Medical Association and Head of the Gastroenterology Department at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University. This conference brought together numerous renowned domestic and international experts in digestive endoscopy, surgery, and pathology to engage in in-depth discussions on the diagnosis and treatment of early gastrointestinal cancer.
Participants delved into the latest technologies in early cancer diagnosis via digestive endoscopy, including chromoendoscopy, narrow-band imaging (NBI), flexible spectral imaging color enhancement (FICE), and confocal laser endomicroscopy. Furthermore, the conference featured extensive discussions on the most recent intraoperative hemostasis treatment methods such as endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), multiband mucosectomy (MBM), natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery (NOTES), combined endoscopic and laparoscopic approaches, as well as the handling of endoscopic specimens, pathological diagnosis of early cancer, and communication between gastroenterologists and pathologists.
